Websites with Payload CMS
Payload is a CMS built directly into your website's Next.js project. You manage text and images in the admin panel, while features like logins and bookings can be built into the same codebase.

Payload fits when content and features belong together
If a website is mostly pages, services and articles, Strapi is our first choice. We pick Payload when the site also has to do things: let customers log in, take bookings or keep track of your own data.
Member areas and logins
Payload has authentication built in. Members or customers log in on the website, and in the admin panel you decide what each of them can see.
Bookings and sign-ups
Bookings, sign-ups and enquiries are stored as records in Payload. You find them in the admin panel, right next to your pages.
Custom fields for your own data
Fields are built around what your business actually handles, such as cars with model year and mileage, or courses with dates and places left.
Preview while you type
Live preview shows the page next to the form and updates as you type, so you see the result before you publish.
One codebase instead of two
The CMS and the website live in the same project. That means one thing to update and one server to run, not a website and a CMS side by side.
No licence fee
Payload is open source and runs together with the website. There is no licence and no fee per editor.
The admin panel you work in
The admin panel comes with the website. You log in at the site's own address, for example yourcompany.com/admin, and only see the content that belongs to it.

All content in lists
Pages, articles and bookings appear in lists you can search and filter.

The media library
Upload images and files once and use them wherever you like. Payload creates the image sizes the website needs.
Strapi or Payload
Both are open-source CMSs, and both give editors clear fields to write in. The difference is how they connect to the website.
The price is the same with both. Read more about our default on the page about Strapi websites.
What a Payload website includes
We set up Payload around your website, so the fields match your content from day one.
What a Payload website costs
Payload has no licence cost, so the price is the same as for any other website we build from scratch.

Common questions about Payload
Payload is an open-source CMS written in TypeScript. It installs directly into a Next.js project, so the admin panel and the website share one codebase. You log in through the browser and edit text, images and other content there.
Strapi runs as a separate app that the website fetches content from. Payload lives in the same Next.js project as the website. That makes Payload a good fit when content is tied to features like logins or bookings. For a typical business website we usually choose Strapi.
Yes. You log in to the admin panel, fill in the fields and publish. Live preview shows the change on the page before visitors see it. Changes are also included in the subscription, so you can just as well email us.
No. Payload is open source, and we run it together with the website. There is no licence and no per-user fee. Hosting is included in the subscription.
Yes, and that is where Payload fits best. Authentication is built in, and bookings or sign-ups are stored as records you see in the admin panel. What you need varies between projects, so we go through it before you get a price.
The same as other websites we build from scratch: a subscription from €250/month with a 24-month initial period, or a fixed price quoted before we start. Logins, bookings and other features are included in that quote.
